Represent™ / artists =
equips artists-in-residence + gUEST artists TO EMPOWER under-represented traditionally under-resourced artists to exhibit and sell artworks while cultivating connections within the local community. Our collaborative professional & creative advocacy is a platform empowering artist self-determinations about exhibition collaborations, community workshop content, and culturally relevant ways to equip themselves, their patrons, local supporters, and exhibitions at to represent them and their work respectfully within their cultural contexts.
ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE
Represent/Artists Artists-In-residence and guest artists are invited to exhibit and sell their works for a limited duration (traditionally a month) while accessing business incubator opportunities courtesy of Julian Peña Gallery. Our programs serve under-represented/resourced artists in need of increased artist representation most.
Increasing under-represented traditionally under-resourced artist representation decreases disproportionate barriers, including high cost of living, deterring proximal and equitable access to professional art exhibition opportunities. Represent/Artists facilitates artists-in-residence programming by/for under-represented/resourced artists to empower their personal and professional self-determination, agency, and creative practice sustainability.
